Engineered Lumber

Distributed exclusively by BlueLinx, Georgia-Pacific engineered lumber is the right choice for floor and roof systems, as well as beams and headers. Today’s residential building trends include large, open spaces and high ceilings, creating a demand for products that provide higher strength and greater stability over longer spans. GP engineered lumber products outperform conventional lumber in these applications, helping to ensure a solid floor system and maintain structural integrity. Lightweight and easy to handle, GP engineered lumber also helps to eliminate the need for supporting posts in basements, garages and bonus rooms. Superior performance at a reasonable install cost, GP engineered lumber offers the right solution for your next construction project.

The XJ 85® is the first engineered I-joist with pre-cut openings that enable you to run ductwork in conditioned spaces, instead of through the attic. It’s lightweight, easy to install, and it can help lower heating and cooling bills. With more strategically placed openings than ever before the XJ 85 can accommodate plumbing, wiring and ductwork. The product is available in 16” depth and standard lengths from 6’-26’, and trimmable on-site to fit perfectly. Georgia-Pacific’s FASTBeam® and FASTPlan® software assists in providing structural analysis and planning for floor designs. Customers can take pride in reduced timber consumption, usage and the ecologically-friendly nature of engineered wood.

Wood I Beam™ Joists

Lightweight and cost effective, WI (Lumber Flanges) and GPI (LVL Flanges) Series Wood I Beam joists are the builder’s choice for residential floor and roof systems. GP manufactures deeper depth joists for larger projects and commercial applications. A wide selection of sizes and flange choices make it easy to specify the materials that are right for the homes you build, whether you’re building smaller tract homes or custom plans. Additionally, most plumbing, ductwork, and wires can pass through the web of Wood I Beam joists, so you can maximize ceiling heights.

2.0E GP Lam® Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)

GP Lam LVL is used as primary support beams in floor, roof and wall structures. This high-grade engineered lumber product is ideally suited for floor systems configured with Georgia-Pacific Wood I Beam joists as well as other I-joists of the same height. 2.0E GP Lam provides superior strength over long spans and reduces the need for support posts and features FiberGuard sealant to provide short-term protection from moisture damage during the construction cycle that can cause splits, cupping and warping.

1 ½” 2.0E GP Lam® LVL

1 ½” 2.0E GP Lam LVL is ideal for manufactured housing marriage beams, truss chords and wall framing. Long lengths allow for continuous spans and its high stiffness and strength provides good fastener holding ability. 1 ½” 2.0E GP Lam LVL allows you to build straight, uniform walls making kitchen and bathroom cabinet installation easier. Consistent sizes and minimal twisting, bowing and shrinking give you the quality you demand and the added benefit of FiberGuard sealant to provide short-term protection from moisture damage during the construction cycle that can cause splits, cupping and warping.

1.5E GP Lam® LVL

1.5E GP Lam has stronger shear and bearing stress properties than solid-sawn lumber. This makes the 1.5E GP Lam great for low-stress applications such as window and door headers. The product is available in two thicknesses. The 3 ½" one-piece member helps reduce installation time and 1 ¾” allows for greater versatility. The consistent LVL manufacturing helps resist bowing, shrinking, twisting and warping for fewer callbacks. The unique FiberGuard® coating with LUV inhibitors offers jobsite protection from moisture.

FiberStrong® Rim Board

FiberStrong® Rim Board completes the engineered lumber flooring system. Manufactured to match the depths of Wood I Floor joists, it serves as perimeter closure both parallel and perpendicular to floor joists and is used to transfer both vertical and lateral loads. When properly attached to ends of joists, FiberStrong® Rim Board helps to prevent rotation and provides perimeter nailing for floor sheathing. Because of its rectangular cross section, FiberStrong® rim board makes it easier and quicker to attach horizontal siding or ledgers for deck attachment.

LiteSteel beam®

LiteSteel beam® (“LSB®”) is a patented light weight, cold-formed, steel structural beam for the residential and light commercial construction markets. LSB combines the strength of steel but with the installation ease normally associated with wood products.

LSB is strong, yet easy to work with. Builders will see significant time and cost savings and can cut, drill or fasten the product using their existing tools and standard fasteners. The lightweight and strong LiteSteel beam is easy to integrate into traditional and manufactured housing. Ideal applications include basement beams, long-span headers, garage beams, roof and ridge beams, floor and deck supports.

AraucoPly Plywood

AraucoPly is manufactured in Chile from plantation forests called Radiata Pine.  These trees are pruned to grow fast, consistent and with less knots than traditional pine.  All AraucoPly panel products meet U.S. Product Standards PS1-07 and are TECO Tested.  General uses and applications include furniture, cabinets, decorative panels, premium siding, underlayment, pool tables, speakers, counter tops, concrete forming, road signs, etc.

AraucoPly AC Panels have a light, uniform color with 150 grit sanding to provide an extra smooth whole piece face.  The standard 7-ply core construction is a full composed Radiata pine providing an almost solid core.  Phenol exterior glue is used in AraucoPly panels, which eliminates the issue of formaldehyde emissions in interior panels.
