The Ryan Leveille Story
Ryan Leveille (pronounced Lev-ee-ay), a Georgia native, is an inspiration to anyone overcoming the odds to succeed. Two months after trading in his inline skates for short track ice, Ryan won 2 Bronze
metals at the U.S. Short Track National Championship.
Later that year, Ryan suffered a devastating skating accident resulting in a broken back and restricting him to a full body cast for four months. After a six month recovery, Ryan reemerged and placed 5th in his first time trial. He has been competing aggressively ever since.
In 2005 Ryan made the switch to long track skating and qualified for the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team. His performance in the 2006 Olympic Games earned him 6th place in the men’s team pursuit and 15th in the men’s 10,000 meter event. Ryan’s ultimate goal is to be the first Olympic athlete to compete and medal in two separate sports, short track and long track in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. BlueLinx Corporation is proud to be a sponsor in helping him to reach his goal.
